If you’re looking for a place to relax, read a book or just while away an afternoon, Marley coffee is your best option. Its Rastafarian style will take you through its flavors with the songs of the greatest representative of Jamaican reggae, Bob Marley.
Its origins date back to the year 1999, when Rohan Marley, the founder of Marley Coffee, bought an abandoned farm in Jamaica and began working the land to fulfill one of his father´s dreams.
Located on 10th street on the corner of 2 north, just one block from the famous 5th Avenue, the cafeteria is on the ground floor of “The Fives Downtown”; hotel. You can choose from a wide variety of drinks, ranging from hot to cold or frappés; it’s an ideal place to drop by after a long walk in downtown Playa del Carmen, and if you’re hungry there’s a good assortment of healthy snacks or you can even break your diet for a day with their homemade pastries.
As the name says, however, the specialty of the house is the varieties of coffee named after Bob Marley songs such as “Get up, stand up” –a coffee bloom with a touch of lemon grass–, “Buffalo soldier” – featuring smoky flavors, dark chocolate and red fruits–, “Simmer down” – coffee without the caffeine–, or at “One love”;, boasting tropical touches and red fruits.
Marley Coffee also has a selection of Marley-themed souvenirs such as cups, shirts, coffee, etc.
So, if you’re wandering around near 5th Avenue or the center of Playa del Carmen, take a little time out and swing by Marley Coffee for a brew!
