Have you ever swum in an underground cave?
The place to do it in the Riviera Maya is Río Secreto, a protected natural reserve located in Playa del Carmen where you can see geological history dating back millions of years, as you hike and swim through a route spanning about one kilometer and filled with stalactites and stalagmites. The beauty of this hidden treasure has to be seen to be believed!
Río Secreto is a place not only for reconnecting with nature, but also for tapping into the mysticism that has enveloped the Mayan world from ancient times to the present.
You can also go in for other fun activities such as rappelling or taking bike rides through the jungle. After the tour you’ll be treated to an excellent lunch that includes chicken fajitas, cochinita pibil (Maya-style suckling pig), beans, fresh fruit and many-flavored juices.
To get there you can either go on your own, or take round-trip transportation from Cancún and the Riviera Maya.
